Akupuncture

The term acupuncture was coined in Europe in the 17th century from the Latin words akus (= needle) and pungere (= prick). The Chinese word for acupuncture means “stinging and burning”, since the burning of moxa herb is also used at the same time as the needle is used (moxa = mugwort leaves = Artemis vugaris leaves)

Acupuncture has established itself as the main method of TCM used in the West. Acupuncture is based on the theory of Yin and Yang and also on the theory of the five elements (see also chapter "The five elements").

TCM regards the emergence of a disease as the result of the conflict between the body's defenses and a disease-causing disorder. There is no balance between Yin and Yang, and so disease occurs in the human organism as a result of an internal cause.

The flow of Qi can either be stimulated or dampened by acupuncture treatment, depending on the illness, and Yin and Yang can be balanced.

For treatment with acupuncture, special thin disposable needles (the needles are only used once for safety reasons!) made of stainless steel, partly made of silver or gold, are used. The individual needles can also be of different lengths, depending on the treatment and the case of illness

The needles are pricked at certain points where the stitch depth can vary. Some of the needles are manipulated by lifting, lowering or vibrating. There is hardly any pain, but some areas are perceived more intensely by individual patients

Electro treatment (additional acupuncture treatment)

Electro acupuncture is a complement to acupuncture. Electro-acupuncture works with very weak electrical impulses that are fed to the body through the needles.

The needles are connected to the master device by cables, the current intensity is set individually for each needle.
